Global markets are torn between gains and losses today as Asia slides down together with American tech and social stocks but flat greenback is giving the commodities the possibility to see a lot of action and get much needed points.
For the second day in a row we see next to no movement in the currency market which is not that disappointing, but rather dull. It makes trading even slower than it has to be.
Here are the main changes for today:
Topix dropped 0.8 percent.
Kospi lost 0.2 percent.
Shanghai Composite was flat.
Hang Seng decreased 0.7 percent.
S&P 500 futures slipped 0.2 percent.
MSCI Asia Pacific fell 0.7 percent.
Dollar was flat against the basket of six major currencies.
Euro costs $1.1293 – next to no changes.
Yen added 0.2 percent – 108.32 per dollar.
Apple slid 0.3 percent - $194.19.
Facebook lost 1.7 percent – $175.04.
Amazon is lighter by 0.45 percent - $1855.32 per share.
Tesla declined 3.6 percent - $209.26.
WTI added 0.7 percent - $51.48 per barrel.
Brent grew 1.3 percent - $60.74 per barrel.
Gold increased 0.2 percent - $1339.3 per ounce.
Silver grew 0.1 percent - $14.77 per ounce.
Platinum increased 0.4 percent – $814.19.
